The Duchess of Cambridge brightened up our Tuesday with a visit to the Royal Opera House in London. For the visit, the royal opted to wear a bold purple Oscar de la Renta peplum jacket and matching skirt.

She paired the prim two-piece with black tights, black buckled Rupert Sanderson court shoes and a ladylike Aspinal handbag. She previously wore the magenta look for an outing in February 2017 with Prince William.

The bold colour seems to be a popular choice for the royal family at the moment; Meghan was seen out wearing a similar colour dress earlier this week.

Kate met with the Royal Opera House costume department during her solo visit, to "find out more about the scale of the department’s work and their use of textiles before hearing from The Royal Ballet dancers about the design of their costumes," Kensington Palace confirmed.

It's proving to be a busy week for the duchess, who was out yesterday to celebrate the news that she'll be designing a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show this year.
