Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge turns three years old today, 23 April. In honour of the special day, his parents have released a new photograph of the small Prince.

The picture was taken on Wednesday at Kensington Palace, just before Prince Louis left for his first day at the Willcocks Nursery School. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has become something of a Royal Family photographer, snapped the shot.

“Three tomorrow!” wrote the Duke and Duchess. “Taken earlier this week by the Duchess before he left for his first day of nursery, the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share a new image of Prince Louis.”

In the photo, Prince Louis grins while riding a red bicycle. He sports blue shorts, a navy sweater, and a blue and white collared shirt. It is also apparent that the young Prince is headed to school, as he is carrying a blue backpack. The youngest Cambridge also looks ready to play in lime green and blue trainers.

Perhaps they were picking out a birthday gift for their youngest family member…
