From Town & Country

We’re used to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge with perfectly groomed hair: in fact, a sun-kissed shine combined with a loosely curled blow-dry has become her signature style.

And while it’s easy to turn up so polished with a team of experts on speed-dial, this week the Duchess demonstrated her own styling nous.

Appearing alongside the Duke of Cambridge on the Kensington Royal Instagram page to mark Burns Night, the Royal looked chic and understated with her mid-length brown hair styled straight and sleek. A slightly off-centre parting delivered a touch of volume through the front, while the ends were discreetly curved in for a softer result.

In the video, the Royal couple thanked the NHS for their tireless and crucial work, and announced their collaboration with NHS Charities Together, the Scottish food and wine specialists Valvona & Crolla and the family-run bakery Fisher and Donaldson, to provide a Burns celebration lunch to the teams at NHS Tayside.

What’s more, the Duchess demonstrated the power of styling to completely transform an outfit: her tartan Emilia Wickstead ensemble has been photographed many times at previous events, yet felt completely fresh thanks to the low-key hair and chic gold and pearl earrings.

Finished with a warm brown smoky eye, the look was modern and understated. We’ll be bearing it in mind for our next Zoom meeting.
