The Duchess of Cambridge wore a fitted pink dress by British design house Alexander McQueen as she met with US First Lady Dr Jill Biden today (11 June).

Dr Biden was also in pink and looked glowing in a fuchsia jacket which she wore over a white summer dress.

The pair visited a school in Cornwall where they discussed the “importance of early childhood on lifelong outcomes, and how we can work together to make a difference,” with experts from the UK and the United States.

Kate said that, “the importance of providing support for parents and children alike during early childhood, and the positive impact that this can have across society, is something we share a great passion for.”

On the official social media account, it was also announced that, “the Duchess is looking forward to sharing a major announcement about how she is working to elevate the importance of early childhood and continue the conversation on this vital issue,” and that the news would be shared next week.

During a press conference at the school, the Duchess spoke about her time with Dr Biden and the work they were doing. She was also asked about her new niece, Lilibet Diana, who Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed into the world earlier this month.

Kate said, “I wish her all the very best, I can’t wait to meet her,” and said that although she hadn’t been able to meet her yet she hoped it would be possible “very soon.”
