The Duchess of Cambridge was elegant in an all-green look for a special event on behalf of the Queen.

The Duchess attended a special garden party at Buckingham Palace, of which a number take place annually. There will be three in total, with the third and final event taking place at the Palace of Holyrood next month.

For the event, Kate opted for a vintage-inspired pale green dress with a high-neckline and button detailing down the centre and along the extended cuffs.

The dress was a custom-made creation which Kate has previously worn before. The Duchess paired the dress with a striking headpiece featuring large flowers and an asymmetric panel.

Yesterday (25 May) was the second garden party of the year, with the first since the pandemic taking place earlier this month.

The Queen wasn't present at this event so the Duchess attended on her behalf, along with the Countess of Wessex and her husband Prince Edward (the Queen’s youngest son), Princess Beatrice and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Photographs of the occasion were shared to the Royal Family’s official Instagram account and showed Kate and other royals in attendance chatting to guests and looking cheerful - despite the rain!

A caption stated that, “There was rain and shine at the final of this year’s Buckingham Palace Garden Parties!” and went onto thank “all of this year’s guests…for all the work that you do. We look forward to welcoming more guests to the Palace of Holyroodhouse next month.”

This year’s garden parties are especially significant as they are taking place in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, marking 70 years on the throne.
