Dua Lipa wears a sheer white dress to a wedding

Wearing white to a wedding is typically seen as the ultimate fashion faux pas – but Dua Lipa was one of many guests to attend the wedding of designer Simon Porte Jacquemus this weekend wearing the hue traditionally reserved for brides.

The singer was pictured at the ceremony in a sheer gown with a thigh-high split and delicate floral embroidery – designed by the groom – which she wore over a pair of white briefs. She accessorised with a pair of strappy sandals, a black handbag and white statement earrings, and wore her hair loose and straight.

Other guests in attendance, who also stuck to the all-white (and all-Jacquemus) dress code, included the designer Amina Muaddi – in a signature Jacquemus shirting look – and French model Didi Stone, in a one-sleeved top and skirt.

The designer, who is a favourite among celebrities and influencers, married his long-term partner Marco Maestri at the intimate outdoor ceremony in Charleval, in the south of France. Jacquemus wore a classic black suit, while Maestri was in crisp cream tailoring. The couple have been dating since 2018 and announced their engagement last year.

The ceremony took place outside the local town hall, and the designer was accompanied down the aisle by his grandmother, Liline. The newlyweds then hopped into a convertible and continued the celebrations at the nearby Château de Bonneval.

The designer grew up in the south of France, and often celebrates the region in his work and through his show settings, so it comes as little surprise that they said their vows in a Provençal setting. In fact, his most recent show, 'La Papier', which took place in nearby Arles in June, featured an almost entirely monochrome collection, with a series of looks in white and cream – an unbeknownst preview of his wedding guest dress code.
