Q. 1) Are you bored of reading about this summer's biggest hair trend (aka the Kardashians' mermaid beach waves)? No, me neither. Q.2) Are you looking to build on that (seemingly ever-growing) Pinterest spring/summer 2022 hair-spo board with something a little less aquatic and something a bit more Future Nostalgic...? Yes, me too.

Well, my friends, you have come to the right place as we have yet another hairstyle that will serve you all the lewks these coming months – festival szn included. First, we saw Simone Ashley sport this style, then Megan Fox, and now we have everyone's favourite dance teacher New Rules singer, Dua Lipa, jumping on the baby braids train. Three is not a crowd but a trend, after all.

In her latest Instagram post, Dua treated us to a series of ten (!) new pictures and videos from her UK tour thus far, including the first being an up close and personal selfie, where–like always–she looks incredible. The star is sporting her signature flurry brows, a minimal eyeshadow look, and a subtle over-lined nude lip *chefs kiss*.

However, although the makeup is providing that all-important and very much essential Thursday morning dopamine rush, what we can't stop staring at is her very on-trend hairstyle. [Dula] Peep that Gen Z middle-part.

All jokes aside, instead of limiting the plaits to just the two front pieces of face-framing strands, Dua has weaved more throughout her dark locks just as Megan Fox did at The Daily Front Row's 6th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards. And although Dua's tresses have not undergone a wavy mermaid makeover, these braids definitely do add a little somethin' somethin' to any down 'do, whether that be straight, curly or anything in between.

So, if your freshly straightened hair got ruined by unpredictable UK weather this morning (or worse, the sweaty commute), then why not add a few plaits into your locks. Good. As. New.
