This year, Elton John's annual Oscars party was a slightly different affair to normal due to the current Covid-19 restrictions. While the A-list event usually takes place in Los Angeles straight after the Academy Awards to huge fanfare, this year, the singer hosted a pre-event in London instead that was streamed online to help raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, and saw Dua Lipa perform.

The singer, who at one point shared the stage with John, wore not one, but two standout Balenciaga looks for the occasion.

The singer's first outfit was a partly sheer, high-necked, sequin gown with fringed detailing, which she wore with dangly earrings and pointy, white, heeled pumps.

She later changed into a dramatic black velvet gown by the house, which had a voluminous fishtail silhouette, while she accessorised with an 18K white gold, diamond-encrusted ring by Fabergé.

"It’s such an honour to be a part of one of the most iconic Oscar parties and I’m really proud to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation to help tackle the stigma that exists around HIV as we need to build a kinder and more accepting world together," Lipa said in a press release before the event took place. "And to share the stage with Elton John will be a dream come true!"

According to The Evening Standard, the event raised over £2 million for the great cause by charging $20 per ticket for fans to watch the performances online.
