Drew Barrymore reveals she 'worships' ex-husband Will Kopelman's new partner

Drew Barrymore has opened up about her happy relationship with ex-husband Will Kopelman and his new wife, Alexandra Michler – which she says is important for the sake of their children.

The 46-year-old Hollywood star revealed she 'worships' Michler, who Kopelman married in August this year, but said she doesn't 'try to be her best friend' and gives them both 'space'.

Featuring on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Barrymore explained: 'He [Kopelman] just got remarried actually last week to this most amazing woman. This incredible woman, Allie, and I just feel like I won the lottery with her, like, I really did.

'I feel like I'm lucky that there's this new beautiful soul that came into our lives.'

Drew added that Michler 'knows that I absolutely worship the ground she walks on, and I'm her biggest cheerleader', and when it comes to socialising together, they're all 'finding our way in a beautiful, slow, respectful manner'.

'We hang out,' she continued. 'We do dinners with all the kids, birthdays. We might take a trip together.'

Barrymore and Kopelman married in 2012 and have two children – Olive, 9, and Frankie, 7. They divorced in 2016 and share custody of their two girls.

The actress and TV host added: 'I'm just so lucky because she came into Will's life and got to know my daughters very well and very real, saw all the warts and all the hearts, everything in between. Literally was like, "I choose you."

'It's a miracle, and I know miracles exist because I was so devastated that our relationship didn't work out because I wanted this. I think Will and I did a kickass job of putting our kids first and showing solidarity.'

Olive and Frankie also served as flower girls at Kopelman and Michler's wedding.
