What’s a day in a Kardashian’s life without some drama? Given the ups and downs of Kim Kardashian and her family, it’s no surprise that the launch of Kim’s new makeup line, KKW Beauty, had a few bumps in the road along the way. While Kim hasn’t let the drama bother her too much - and KKW Beauty was such a successful launch that her contour and highlight kits sold out in two and a half hours - here's a recap of all the controversies she had to deal with so far:

Some people initially pitted Kim and Kylie against each other.

When KKW Beauty was announced, some people immediately thought of Kim’s younger sister Kylie, who happens to have a multimillion-dollar beauty empire of her own. The two have even collaborated on products before. Was Kim coming for Kylie? Kim answered this question in practically every interview she gave about her new company. "Kylie and I love collaborating on our lip kit together," she told E! News. "A lot of my products, starting when we do our concealer, is going to have anti-aging components in it. So I'm definitely focusing on skin. We don't have many of the same products. We really aren't competing. I will say Kylie can do her makeup better than I can." Plus, the two are using the same manufacturer, so it’s clear this is more of a family business, rather than a competition.

Some fans accused her of blackface.

When Kim launched promotional photos for her new line, some people noticed that skin tone seemed darker than usual. Some social-media users called out Kim for “blackface,” blaming everyone from makeup artists and photo editors to Kim herself. Kim eventually responded in a New York Times interview, saying she was “really tan” the day of the shoot and that nobody on her team noticed anything wrong, but she had “the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did.” She eventually released a corrected image.

So far, reviews are mixed.

Revelist noted that beauty bloggers have been critiquing the contour sticks for breaking easily. And even when Jeffree Star raved about the product line, his fans gave him enough backlash that he posted a look on Snapchat about just how little product there is in each contour stick. For $48, her kit has a good deal less product than some of her competition.

She was accused of shading a YouTuber for a not-so-great review.

Kim took lots of pictures with beauty-industry celebs to celebrate her line’s launch, and posted tons of photos on her Instagram account. But some fans noticed she tagged every single person except for Jackie Aina, a YouTuber who gave the products a so-so review. Some people called shade on Twitter, saying Kim must have untagged her out of spite. Kim tweeted that she never meant not to tag Jackie, blaming Instagram’s gallery function. “I hung out with @jackieaina in my home and she was super sweet,” she wrote. “I love that she has an opinion and I’ll take what she said and use it to better my products." Jackie said she appreciated that Kim cleared things up and thanked her for “welcoming my honesty and feedback.”
