Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay has wed her actor beau Ziggy Heath in a lowkey ceremony.

The Lady Sybil Crawley actor tied the knot on Saturday 12 September, two days ahead of Brown Findlay's 31st birthday.

Sharing a photo of her embracing her husband in their wedding attire along with a snap of herself jumping on a bed in a red dress to Instagram, she wrote: "♥️ wins every time . A weekend of dreams. Small celebrations felt HUGE. And now what a birthday! X I love you."

In other posts to her Instagram stories, she revealed more details of the happy day by sharing a picture of herself and Heath in a church as well as an ornately decorated cake from Lily Vanilli Bakery.

Brown Findlay claimed the pastel coloured wedding cake has been "devoured in seconds".

It appeared they had also hired an old Routemaster bus for wedding transportation as the newlyweds were captured kissing on the back of it.

They began dating three years ago after meeting while filming Harlots, a racy series about sex workers' struggle for survival in 18th century London.

Brown Findlay plays the savvy Charlotte Wells in the programme - which is currently being re-aired on the BBC - while Heath featured in a number of episodes as Mr Holland.

The Downton star left the role of Lady Sybil in the ITV drama in series three when her character died shortly after childbirth.

Her other credits include Black Mirror, Misfits and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
