A DRIVER who parked on double yellow lines caused chaos in Stroud town centre this afternoon.

A Stagecoach bus became stuck at around 12.30pm after it was unable to move due to the parking in King Street outside HSBC.

An eyewitness said: “The driver has parked on the double yellows where they aren't supposed to park and it’s blocked the road for at least 15 minutes.

"If the person comes back they probably won’t dare come back into it.

"A lamppost on the other side means the bus is just blocked."

Another eyewitness said: “The whole of Stroud town centre is blocked because of this and will be for ages.”

The bus driver told the SNJ: “This happens all the time if people park there.”
