Doria Ragland is set to film an interview with Oprah Winfrey while she is in London this week, it has been reported by the tabloids. The mother of Meghan Markle is said to have already met with the US television personality, who also attended the royal wedding this Saturday.

"The plan is for Doria to film part of her interview while Oprah is in London," a source told The Sun. "That’s why she was invited to the wedding. There’s huge secrecy about what the interview will involve and when it will air but both Doria and Meghan felt it was critical for Oprah to be at the wedding to really understand."

Ragland is said to have visited the US star's Los Angeles home at the end of April, where the two got to know one another ahead of the wedding and the interview.

"Oprah is an icon in the US media and a role model to African American women. She has an untouchable status and is becoming a key adviser to both Meghan and Doria."

There have been rumours that Ragland will discuss the racism that Markle first faced in the press when her relationship with Prince Harry was revealed.

After spending the night before the wedding with her daughter, Ragland rode with Markle to St George's Chapel and then sat behind the bride during the ceremony. Ragland could be seen wiping away tears at several points during the most emotional moments of the day.

Oprah was not the only A-lister to attend the wedding. She was joined by the likes of Amal and George Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham and a whole host of the cast of Suits.
