Donald Trump might not be President of the United States anymore, but it seems he's still providing plenty to talk about on Twitter (where he has been permanently banned). This time, it was Trump's casual reminder of his, ahem, starring role in Home Alone 2 in a resignation letter to the Screen Actors Guild that has left people entertained.
Let's rewind a second, to provide some context. Donald Trump, the lauded actor and personality that he is, had been a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) for around 30 years. But then the union accused the ex-president of endangering some of its member journalists with his alleged role in the storming of the Capitol last month.
But in true Trump style, he was not going to sit back and take the accusations lightly. He decided to publicly resign, and wrote a letter declaring so. The letter, which wound up on SAG-AFTRA's website, features the former politician telling the union he's not fussed that they want to revoke his membership, tbqh. In fact, "Who cares!" were his specific words.
And then, Donald Trump delved into his past catalogue of starring roles in film and TV...

"While I’m not familiar with your work," he wrote in the letter addressed to SAG-AFTRA's president Gabrielle Carteris, a former star of Beverly Hills, 90210, "I'm very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice – to name just a few!"
As you can imagine, Twitter users were absolutely loving the self-promo, and more the fact that Trump referenced Macaulay Culkin classic Home Alone 2 top of the list, despite the fact that his role in it extends to, ooh, about a three-second cameo. Anyway, here are some of the responses Donald Trump's resignation letter brought in...
I too have cited Home Alone 2 in every resignation letter I've sent

I think it’s comical that he mentioned the film Home Alone 2 as if they asked him to appear. We now know he wouldn’t let them film unless he was in it.https://t.co/CWdbGQw8z0
