Don Cherry awkwardly interviews top NHL draft prospects

Don Cherry interviews the 2017 NHL draft class during the second intermission of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.

During the second intermission of Monday’s Game 4, Don Cherry sat down with the top prospects for the upcoming NHL draft.

It’s a time-honored tradition — a chance for the hockey world to get to know a little something about the future stars of the game. The routine has been similar for years: the player looks into the camera, introduces himself and usually answers a basic hockey-related question, like who his favorite NHL player is.

This year was a little different, with cars and music the chosen subject matter.

The prospects in attendance in Nashville Monday were top-ranked Nolan Patrick, Nico Hischier, Gabriel Vilardi and Casey Mittelstadt. These things are always a little awkward, but the kids did a fine job considering they were forced to talk music with an 83-year-old.

You can check out the full interview here, but we’ll sum it up with their answers below.
