Dolly Parton gave husband Carl Dean a birthday surprise he's unlikely to ever forget by dressing up in a Playboy bunny outfit to recreate her iconic 1978 Playboy cover.

The country music legend shared a clip of herself on Twitter as she prepared to unveil her look for Carl to celebrate his 79th birthday on July 20 (Tuesday). The couple have been married for 57 years.

In the video, Dolly recalled how she had planned to pose for Playboy when she turned 75, but as the publication no longer exists, she decided to make her own photoshoot for Carl instead.

"Remember some time back I said I was going to pose on Playboy magazine when I'm 75?" the star said in the post. "Well, I'm 75 and they don't have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy.

"So I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years and I'm not going to try to talk him out of that."

Dolly framed her original cover next to her latest addition, and joked that she "was kind of a little butterball in that one, well I'm string cheese now".

She then added with a wink: "But he'll probably think I'm cream cheese - I hope!"

The video also included Dolly giving her handmade gift to Carl at their home in Nashville.

"It's always #HotGirlSummer for my husband, Carl," she captioned her tweet. "Happy birthday my love!"

Many Happy Returns, Carl!
