Dog whisperer shares 'superpower' command to get your pooch to bed in minutes
We all love our pets, but sometimes they can be hard to handle. The last thing you need sometimes is to have a dog jumping all over you when you need to get other tasks done.
Thankfully, a dog expert has revealed his special trick for getting your dog under control. Through a video on Tiktok, dog-training expert Sam Hoke, has shared his "superpower" command that can help calm down distressed dogs - even better, he claims it can be taught in just "five minutes".
The most important command to teach your four-legged friend has been revealed to be the "place command". In order to keep our furry friend stress free, all pet owners need to do is follow four simple steps, reports Surrey Live.

For the first step, Sam suggests using a raised bed to provide a clear space and location for the dog to go to. Once the dog is on the bed, reward them with a treat. This should be repeated every time they step on the bed.
By giving the dog a treat each time they get on the bed, the pup is receiving the message that good things will happen to them every time they do so. The next step involves repeating this process but attaching the command "place".
Continuing with the reward each time, the dog should be becoming used to the command and be happy to go to their spot in a calmer state. The third step is to lure the dog down into a lying position once they are on their bed. You should also delay giving your pet a treat until they have fully completed the command.
The last step is to wait for the dog to make eye contact while they are lying on the bed. The video has gone viral with over 761k views at the time of reporting, along with 55k likes.
Many fans of the dog trainer have praised how he manages to promote calm behaviour in his loyal companion by gradually increasing the duration of their 'calm spot' by taking longer to reward the behaviour and introducing distractions.
One pleased dog owner commented: "My Golden is learning this and doing great. I keep him there while going to another room and he stays." While another added: "This is without a doubt 100 percent true! It takes away all worries of your dog causing an inconvenient disturbance."
A third said: "My 5.5 month golden retriever puppy wakes up from his bed and goes straight to place without being asked anymore. If I leave the room he will go to place and wait. It’s a useful command."
