A new documentary about the famed The Ritz Hotel is on its way.

Inside The Ritz Hotel follows several important events that took place at the London hotel in recent months, including the launch of its first cookbook and an exclusive look inside the Michelin-starred kitchen.

As well as all things foodie, the documentary series will introduce some of the hotel's most-loved colleagues and some of its high-profile clients, including footballer Mo Salah, actor Richard Grant and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The series comes during the hotel’s first ever period of closure since it first opened its doors in 1906, in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Jackie McDevitt, head of public relations at The Ritz, highlighted what we can expect to see: “For the first time in a generation we opened the doors of The Ritz to cameras to make this documentary series, Inside The Ritz Hotel."

"The cameras follow some key moments and stories in our beloved Grande Dame’s history, including the launch of the hotel’s first cookbook by our executive chef John Williams, and the journey of our Ritz honey from the roof of the hotel to the plate in the Michelin-starred Ritz Kitchen."

"We also meet some of our legendary colleagues - our pianist Ian Gomes; Michael de Cozar, our head hall porter who has been a smiling face behind the concierge desk for an incredible 46 years; our tea master; head sommelier; pastry chef; and head housekeeper," she told us.

"The series is, we hope, a celebration of the people and passion which make The Ritz such a special hotel to so many and it’s particularly poignant to be broadcast by ITV after the hotel's first ever period of closure. I hope Inside The Ritz Hotel brings a smile to people’s faces watching."

Inside The Ritz Hotel airs on ITV on Thursday 30 July and Thursday 6 August.
