The three minute ad follows a Grandmother named Lola and her close relationship with her granddaughter, and all the family traditions they’ve enjoyed over the years.
It begins with Lola being given a Mickey Mouse toy by her father in 1940, and we see Mickey and Lola over the years, when Lola herself has children and grandchildren - and how family and traditions often mean the most.
There’s a teary moment when Mickey loses an ear, but all is not lost… it’ s not for long, and there’s a huge surprise on Christmas morning. A special mention must go to the advert’s dog, an extremely cute animated Brussels Griffon.
There’s also a number of Easter Eggs for Disney fans hidden in the ad, including a dancing Olaf the Snowman on TV, so keep your eyes peeled.
The soundtrack to the advert, Love Is A Compass, is by 19-year-old British singer songwriter Griff, and all proceeds from the song will go to charity Make-A-Wish.
Griff says:“I was excited to get involved in Disney’s Christmas campaign, in support of Make-A-Wish. The lyrics of the track and the storytelling in the advert are powerful, and important. The theme of family and loved ones are so front of mind for many of us – especially this Christmas.”
