Christmas 2021 is going to be an occasion even more special than usual as (hopefully) most of us get to spend the day with loved ones, instead of in lockdown like last year.
One of the most fun parts about the Christmas period is all the festive food, and one of our favourite supermarkets, Morrisons, has just unveiled their mouthwatering Christmas menu.
The show-stopping range of festive food includes quick and easy-to-prepare starters, mains and desserts designed to take the hassle out of cooking on Christmas day, while still delivering the delicious factor.
A spokesperson for the brand says: "From our test kitchen to zoom meetings, our team of chefs and product developers have been busy creating, tasting - and tasting again - to make every product perfect this year."
"It’s not just what we make though, but how we make it that’s important to us. As a proud supporter of the British farming industry, we work directly with farmers, growers and fishermen. Sourcing the best ingredients for our Christmas products - from people we trust."
There are plenty of new dishes to choose from, including gluten free and vegan options, but our favourites include the Scottish Smoked Salmon, which is triple smoked over oak and cask chippings for 14 hours in Morrison's own kilns in Grimsby.
We're also tempted to go for something a little different to turkey, and try the Lamb Guard of Honour, which is seasoned with a rich and fruity cranberry and sloe gin glaze.
Alternatively, the vegan roast joint with herb and onion stuffing also sounds like it'd be the perfect option for vegan family and friends, featuring soya with caramelised onion, parsley, sage and thyme stuffing and topped with paprika gluten-free bread crumbs and a bay leaf.
There's also a chocolate orange and mascarpone cream panettone that sounds like the perfect way to round off Christmas dinner.
Made at a second generation family-run bakery in northern Italy, the cake has milk chocolate chunks, mascarpone and orange liqueur cream, topped with a layer of bittersweet chocolate and decorated with toasted almond slices and chocolate pieces.
All the Christmas food range will be available to buy instore and online from December.
