David Dimbleby proved to the world that NOBODY interrupts Question Time in a ninja-like TV smackdown last night.

The veteran broadcaster is usually a perfect gentleman but even a perfect gentleman can be pushed too far at times, and viewers of Question Time saw Dimbleby reach his limit in Plymouth on Thursday evening (June 22).

One boisterous audience member raised Dimbleby's ire by continuously interrupting the Conservative Party's justice secretary David Lidington, calling Jeremy Corbyn's success in the recent general election a defeat for "the Tories and the Blairites" and questioning whether Theresa May had a mandate to lead.

As Lidington attempted to answer, this same audience member continued to pepper him with criticism over the corporate tax credit. At that point, Dimbleby stepped in to demand decorum.

"I know you have your views," the presenter said. "You're one person in an audience of 150! I don't want you taking over this programme. He's speaking, let him speak."

As the panel tried to steer the discussion towards other issues, this impassioned audience member once again interrupted the show to call May a "zombie prime minister".

It's at this point that Dimbleby finally had his fill, snapping: "Listen, I think you ought to leave."

With security clearly moving in his direction, this unnamed man realised that discretion is always the better part of valour and left on his own accord… to a rousing applause from the annoyed audience.

It's moments like this that remind us why we'll always have a soft spot for #Dimblebae.

Question Time continues next Thursday night (June 29) on BBC One from Hastings, hopefully with a more hospitable studio audience.
