The difference between Prince George and Princess Charlotte's birthday portraits

Prince George turned five years old on July 22nd!

And as with most special occasions, Kensington Palace shared an adorable portrait of the Prince to mark the milestone. The sweet picture shows a grinning Prince George taken by photographer Matt Porteous, who also photographed Prince Louis' christening.

As reported by Good Housekeeping, Prince George's birthday portraits differ from Princess Charlotte's in one very particular way -- his portraits are typically taken by a professional photographer like Porteous, Mario Testino, and Chris Jackson, while his sister's portraits are usually snapped by mom Duchess Kate.

Whether that is due to that fact that Prince George is the future king of England or perhaps it can just be chalked up to good timing, we can't wait to see more portraits of the royal family. Click through the gallery above for all of the adorable birthday portraits.
