This weekend, Meghan Markle turned out to support her good friend, Serena Williams, at the women's final at Wimbledon. After her defeat, Williams delivered an emotional speech that reportedly even made Meghan tear up in the stands.

"It was such an amazing tournament for me. I was really hoping to get this far," Williams said as she appeared to fight back tears. "It’s obviously disappointing, but I can’t be disappointed. I have so much to look forward to. I’m literally just getting started."

In Wimbledon's official video of the interview, Meghan can be seen tearing up at one point while listening to Williams' touching speech.

"To all the mums out there, I was playing for you today and I tried," she added, as the crowd cheered.

Serena, who lost the final to Angelique Kerber, 6-3, 6-3, has been open about motherhood and how her life and perspective have changed since welcoming her daughter, Olympia.

"Everything has changed the way I thought about raising a daughter,” she told Elle in May. "There are so many hidden innuendoes out there for girls that we don’t even think about! That I never thought about, until I realized my daughter would hear them. So I try to tell her every day that she’s strong, and that she’s smart. Those are the two big ones. Even though she’s only seven months, I still try to tell her. Putting that in her head from such a young age is super-important to me. I believe she has to understand some of the things I’m saying, even now, and I hope it sticks with her for the rest of her life."
