BBC's Line Of Duty is back for a sixth series, airing weekly on Sunday evenings. The first series of Sherlock Holmes spin-off, The Irregulars, meanwhile, just dropped in full on Netflix. But did you know there's an actor who appears in both?
Fans on Twitter noticed Royce Pierreson, who plays Doctor Watson in the fantasy series, has actually popped up in a number of other dramas like Our Girl and The Witcher, but was also in series four of Line of Duty.
In it, he played DC Jamie Desford – a detective who worked alongside AC-12's Steve Arnott (played by Martin Compston) and Kate Fleming (played by Vicky McClure), while they investigated DCI Roz Huntley and a murder inquiry as part of Operation Trapdoor.
"So... #RoycePierreson who played Jamie in #LineOfDuty is in #TheIrregulars, pretty good actor from what else I've seen him in," one fan wrote, while another added, "Just realised Watson from The Irregulars is in Line Of Duty!"
The Irregulars is essentially a Sherlock Holmes spin-off, and follows the inhabitants of 221B Baker Street as they solve a series of mysteries in order to protect London. The Netflix twist? They're a group of "troubled street teens" and they're up against supernatural forces.
Line Of Duty, meanwhile, is in its sixth series, and the hunt for 'H' is still on - though AC-12 are currently tied up in Gail Vella's murder case, as they attempt to figure out Joanne Davidson's suspicious behaviour. Hmm.
