Did Kim Kardashian subtly shade Kanye West on Instagram?

Over the weekend, Kanye West's much-anticipated album Donda was released on streaming platforms following a series of live listening parties in the US. While it seemed his ex-wife was in full support of the new music, on Sunday (29 August) fans spotted what they thought was a subtle shade from Kim Kardashian.

ICYMI, Kim attended Kanye's listening parties with their four kids in matching outfits, and even wore a wedding dress on stage while the rapper performed one of his new songs.

After the album was released, Kim took to socials to share a screenshot of her listening to the tracks. But, eagle eyed fans noticed that Kim actually had the volume turned all the way down, and was in fact listening to Donda on mute.

It didn't take long for fans to share their reaction to the awkward moment on Twitter. "Not Kim Kardashian listening to Donda on mute 😭" tweeted one fan, while another added "Kim promoting Kanye’s album but it’s on mute.. petty goals."

Another user tweeted "Kim really said Kanye's music sounds sm better when it's on mute."

Someone else wrote "Ayyo Kim is listening all songs on mute," and a fifth fan tweeted "Kim real life listening to Donda on mute n posted it."

But Kim must have noticed her Instagram Story had caused a stir as she quickly deleted the screenshots and reposted them with the volume on. Guess we'll never know if it actually was a subtle shade at her ex, or just another awkward social media faux pas.
