Did Adele just send a shady message to her ex-husband in birthday post?
Adele shared a trio of Instagram pictures to celebrate turning 33, and as well as looking incredible, there's some speculation about whether there's a hidden message to her ex-husband in the caption.
The singer has basically just been living her best life over the past 18 months, sharing insights into what she gets up to on social media. First came Adele wearing her Glastonbury dress while watching her headline set back. Then she hosted an Oscars afterparty with Daniel Kaluuya and Drake.
And now? She's full of self love and gratitude to celebrate her 33rd birthday.
"Thirty Free," the singer wrote to her 39million followers, along with three photographs: a black and white one of Adele looking fresh faced, one of her fully dressed in the sea (love) and one of her dancing.
Firstly, 33 and THRIVING. She looks happy as anything. Secondly, some have speculated about whether the replacement of "three" with "free" is a nod to her divorce from Simon Konecki.
The couple announced their divorce in April 2019. They got married in 2016, but had been together for seven years, and share an eight year old son.
Announcing the split in a statement, Adele's rep confirmed: "Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always, they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
Maybe, maybe not. She could easily just be living her best life, no thought for her exes.
But one thing is for sure: we need the new album.
