Diane von Furstenberg unveils homeware collection for H&M

Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with H&M on an eclectic new homeware collection.

The Belgium-born designer redefined womenswear with the launch of her iconic wrap dress in 1974, and has since gone on to outfit the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, and former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.

But for her latest project, von Furstenberg has decided to try her hand at interior design, and has collaborated with the team at H&M on a 31-piece range.

Comprised of wool blankets, cushion covers, boxes, trays, candles, small plates, vases, and posters, many of the items feature monochromatic prints as well as striking lip and animal motifs.

"The prints in the H&M HOME collaboration are very iconic. The 'Diane' print I created 20 years ago when I started the company, while the lips print comes from the painting Andy Warhol did of me," the designer noted. "Personally, I love animal prints - zebra is very DVF - and also vibrant orange and pinks, but monochrome black and white is very chic, too."

Highlights of the collection include a set of orange rounded vases, posters printed with inspirational quotes, a luxurious robe, a line of espresso cups and saucers, and a collection of large candles that are scented with amber.

And not only was von Furstenberg hands-on in developing the line, but also styled the imagery and insisted on shooting the accompanying campaign at her own home.

"The whole collection is fabulous, and I can't wait to share it with everyone," the 74-year-old gushed.

The Diane von Furstenberg x H&M HOME collection will be available in selected stores and online from 16 April.
