Diane Kruger might be synonymous with red-carpet dressing and a beauty aesthetic centred around her signature golden blonde hair, but she has taken a very different style turn this Paris Fashion Week.

Looking every bit the Chloé girl, it seemed the German-born former model was channelling Chemena Kamali's new 'Freedom' collection - a show rooted in the 'Spirit of the Seventies' - by embracing a boho-brown oversized leather jacket, crochet trousers, and notably, a new vibrant copper Seventies hairstyle.

While her outfit was clearly a sartorial ode to the Seventies - complete with all the oversized jewellery, chain belts, and leather fringing that sing bohemian dressing 2.0 - it was her hairstyle that was the real nostalgic nod to the era. Sidelining her golden blonde ends, the actor adopted the ultimate Seventies copper hair trend, upgrading the copper 'shag' haircut which first grew in popularity in the Seventies, with a rich red all-over hue and soft bohemian waves.

Copper hair, in all its many guises, has been cropping up more than ever lately. The autumn upgrade, as demonstrated by Kruger, is the middle ground between a reddish hue and bronze tone. 'The trend has recently evolved into more red-toned shades of copper that are punchy and vivid as the season moves into winter,' agrees trend forecaster and hair expert Tom Smith.

If you're thinking about following in Kruger's footsteps, there are a few things to note where the colour is concerned. Firstly, maintenance and hair health are key and Smith suggests turning down the heat on your styling tools, and washing your hair in cooler water to slow down the rate at which any hair colour fades. 'Soft coppers tend to fade very nicely and require little maintenance at home, while bold and vivid copper and red shades often need to be topped up to remain looking their best,' he shares.

Kruger, who was joined by a star-studded FROW for Chloé's SS25 show and included everyone from Karlie Kloss to Sienna Miller, isn't the only who has been taking hairstyle cues from the Seventies. Lily Collins recently debuted nostalgic copper curls for a new West End project, while Sydney Sweeney and Kendall Jenner have long been experimenting with different reddish hair tones veering between the natural auburn and more vibrant hues.
