Designer Peter Dundas welcomes first child

Peter Dundas has celebrated U.S. Father's Day by announcing the arrival of his first child.

The Norwegian fashion designer and his longtime partner Evangelo Bousis took to Instagram on Sunday to share that their baby son, Alexios Peter, was born via surrogate on 14 June.

"HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO US!!! EV and I are celebrating this wonderful day with our son Alexios Peter who is 6 days old today. We are now a FAMILY!!" he captioned a happy snap of himself and Evangelo holding their baby boy. "We are overjoyed with happiness for our little angel's arrival."

Peter went on to make special mention of the couple's surrogate and medical team, as well as the authorities in the U.S. state of California, for making the pathway to parenthood for same-sex couples relatively straightforward in comparison to other places around the world.

"We are beyond grateful to our wonderful surrogate and her family who made this journey with us; to our wonderful baby doctors, the lovely midwife who delivered him healthy on his surprise arrival, our supportive friends and to California who let guys like us become Dads so smoothly," the 52-year-old commented. "Unfortunately, it's not the same everywhere and if you are hoping to have children in a place that doesn't support this journey PLEASE don't lose faith. God is good and the world is changing and it will for you too."

To conclude, Peter asked his followers to send their support to other same-sex couples they know who may be looking to become parents.

"For anyone with expecting two dad or two mom friends; please support them whether they have kids or hoping to have kids. Their children will have so much love and remember LOVE ALWAYS WINS!!" he added.

Lisa Rinna, Giambattista Valli, and Emilia Wickstead were among the celebrities to send Peter and Evangelo congratulatory messages.
