Designer accuses Khloé Kardashian of copying work

• An independent designer is accusing Khloé Kardashian of copying her work.

• Designer Destiney Bleu, who specialises in bedazzling work, says the KUWTK star first ordered items from her in December.

• Destiney believed Khloé would be wearing the items herself, but never did. Instead, she says, the reality star had her team copy them for her Good American clothing line.

• Destiney says she's now "lawyered up"

• Good American released a statement saying Khloé did not "infringe on another brand’s intellectual property."

An independent clothing designer is accusing Khloé Kardashian of copying her work.

In a tweet posted Friday, Khloé celebrated some of her Good American looks. She posted a star-studded video of various famous women sporting her apparel with the caption, "I always have the BEST time on set with my #GOODSQUAD! How many beautiful, kickass ladies can you spot in my @goodamerican campaign video?"

However, not everyone was thrilled about the post.

In response, designer Destiney Bleu, the woman behind dbleudazzled, which specialises in custom crystallized lingerie and swimwear, re-tweeted Khloé, along with the caption, "When someone buys 1 of everything on your site, has you make them custom @dbleudazzled work, never posts it or wears it, then copies it."

If you look at the bedazzling in Khloé's above video, you'll notice a similarity to work seen on Destiney's Instagram.

Destiney tweeted that Khloé bought clothing in December, and she thought that the reality star was holding off on wearing it until the NBA Finals. "Nope. It was all being sent away to copy," she finished.

She also claims that she sent Khloé's assistant an email calling her out on the whole situation and has not heard back yet.

Although some people on Twitter attempted to defend Khloé by attacking Destiney, she also received overwhelming amounts of support.

In a series of tweets, Destiney explained how she feels about the situation.

"I had stylists friends working on the Good American set and they told me they were shook when they saw her black x nude @dbleudazzled copies," she wrote.

She continued: "Dazzle is my livelihood. I pay 3 rents, 5 employees & handmake everything. I did it w/no investment or guidance, I'll always fight for this."

"I have an epic resume and have outstanding relationships with my clients. Im not sitting back and letting this snake shit slide...I know its prolly unprofessional of me to spill the tea but I've had it with these non creative millionaires stealing from indie designers."

When someone tried to Twitter-splain (TM) what Destiney needed to do re: copyrighting and incorporating, she expert-level responded, "Im trademarked already and lawyered up"

Cosmopolitan.com has reached out to Khloé for comment and will update this post if she responds.

Update 6/3/17, 5pm EST: Good American released a statement to Cosmopolitan.com. "Under no circumstances did Good American or Khloe Kardashian infringe on another brand’s intellectual property," they wrote. They added that they are "going through the proper legal channels to handle the situation."
