'Delicious' tiramisu French toast recipe that only requires five ingredients to make

It's finally the weekend, and nothing is better than spending a bit of time making a delicious breakfast that'll set you up for the day ahead.

One of those dishes that hits the spot every time is a portion of French toast - soft bread dipped into eggs and fried until fluffy and golden, served with whatever you like.

And if you're bored of the same toppings, then one viral recipe is worth trying out this weekend. It's a tiramisu-inspired version, posted on TikTok by food content creator @sunnysrecipes, featuring all the flavours from the classic Italian creamy dessert.

The dish only requires five ingredients too, and can be ready in 10 minutes. So even if you're still in a rush at the weekend, this breakfast can still be prepared and enjoyed before the business of the day kicks in, the Express reports.

In the video's caption, Sunny described it as "such an easy way to upgrade your french toast."

People in the comments have hailed the recipe as 'dreamy', whilst one fan said: "I just tried this recipe, and it turned out great!" Another wrote: "This looks delicious omg."

Tiramisu French toast

Ingredients

  • Two slices of bread

  • One egg

  • 1/4 cup black coffee

  • Vanilla yogurt

  • Dusting of cocoa powder

  • Oil or butter for frying

Method

  1. First, grab a large mixing bowl and crack the eggs into it, before adding in the coffee. Give it a good whisk until they're fully mixed together.

  2. Then, dip your slices of bread into the mixture, making sure they are fully soaked in the coffee and egg.

  3. Then take a pan and set it over a medium heat on the hob, adding the oil or allowing the butter to melt before you add the pieces of bread in.

  4. Once the pan is hot, place the bread in and fry until golden for a couple of minutes on each side.

  5. To serve, place one piece of bread on a plate and then spread some vanilla yoghurt on it. Sandwich it together with the other piece of bread, spread more yoghurt on top, and add a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top.
