Death in Paradise fan favourite Danny John-Jules will be returning for the show's first ever Christmas special.
The actor and former Strictly star will be reprising his role as charismatic Officer Dwayne Myers for the festive feature-length special which will conclude the recent 10th anniversary celebrations. The much-loved British-French crime drama first appeared on our small screens in October, 2011.
The special will begin in a grey, damp and drizzly London before arriving on the idyllic Isle of Saint Marie, where Dwayne is welcomed with open arms to help solve a murder case. Dwayne soon realises that not only has he previously met Officer Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles) - he once arrested him. The team of old and new faces unites to unravel the murderous crime.
John-Jules last appeared in the series back in 2018.
When series 10 concluded, fans were left wondering whether Neville (Ralf Little) admitted his true feelings for Florence (Josephine Jobert) - with the BBC teasing that all we be revealed in the Christmas special.
John-Jules said in a statement: "It's always a pleasure going back to the Caribbean. And after four years away, fitting back into the fold should be seamless as I know all the new leading cast members already. I look forward to bringing Dwayne and this tenth anniversary special script to life."
Joining the regular cast for the special will feature Mathew Baynton, Juliet Stevenson, Stanley Townsend, Jocelyn Jee Esien, Anthony Calf, Tessa Bonham James, Elizabeth Tan, and Tariq Jordan.
The Christmas special will air in December this year, with series 11 arriving in January 2022.
