She normally slips into sky-high heels for her appearances as a judge on The Masked Singer, but this week Davina McCall was forced to resort to trainers.

The presenter, 54, revealed that her unusual footwear choice for last night's instalment of the ITV show was due to suffering an injury after falling while running.

In a post on Instagram, McCall shared a photo of herself posing backstage in a stunning silky, navy blue dress by fashion designer Galia Lahav – with a pair of white sneakers poking out beneath the sweeping thigh-split hem.

Captioning the image, she wrote: "It was the day after I fell running and there was no way my foot would squeeze into a heel."

The post has received more than 36,000 'likes', with many fans praising the former Big Brother host for her comfy footwear choice.

Denise Lewis and Giovanna Fletcher were among the famous names to comment with heart and flame emojis.

One social media user wrote "yessss trainers all the way", while another added "still glamorous no matter what".

It comes after the mother-of-three wowed with her stylish look for the first episode of the new series last week.

McCall, who appears on the judging panel alongside Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan, wore a shimmery black Narces dress with a pair of black heels and a high ponytail.

In a post on Instagram discussing her role guessing the hidden identity of the celebrity contestants, she admitted: "It’s tough this season... TBH I find it tough every season."

It comes after the star appeared on the cover of Women's Health magazine, revealing she loves “not giving a damn” now she is in her fifties.

The presenter said: "It’s a time of shedding the shackles of inhibition and of giving a damn... Because I haven’t always felt like that."
