With the return of The Masked Singer comes judge Davina McCall's array of stunning outfits each week.

However, the TV star, 54, used last night's appearance – in which she wore a red minidress with voluminous sleeves – to make an important style statement.

In a post on Instagram, McCall pointed out that viewers may recognise the frock from the last series of the ITV show.

She revealed that the choice to bring back the garment, which she described as "an absolute fave", was to highlight the importance of sustainable fashion.

The dress, which she first wore on the judging panel just under a year ago, is from brand AZ Factory – but rather than black heels for its inaugural appearance, this time McCall paired it with white trainers.

She explained that she was still suffering from an "ouchy foot" that had lead her to also wear the same comfy footwear with last week's glamorous look.

The mother-of-three, who last time sported temporary balayage on her brunette locks, this weekend wore her hair in an elegant up-do.

Her post has received more than 48,000 'likes', with hundreds of comments praising the head-turning ensemble.

Fellow presenter Cherry Healey wrote: "Heavenly dress."

The Pussycat Dolls' Kimberley Wyatt commented: "Uuuummmmm wow!!!! LOVE THIS LOOK!!!!"

Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daly shared: "Super cute."

Meanwhile, vlogger Alfie Deyes joked "I see those Jamie Oliver shoes", while Rylan Clark-Neal teased "I was gonna wear that".

It comes after McCall explained the story behind her injury that has banished heels from her The Masked Singer wardrobe for the moment.

Captioning a photo of herself posing backstage in a navy Galia Lahav dress and trainers, she wrote: "It was the day after I fell running and there was no way my foot would squeeze into a heel."

McCall is the current cover star of Women's Health and told the magazine she loves “not giving a damn” now she is in her 50s.

She said: "It’s a time of shedding the shackles of inhibition and of giving a damn... Because I haven’t always felt like that."
