David Harbour reveals one of the sweet reasons he married Lily Allen

·2-min read

David Harbour has opened up about the moment he knew he "needed" to marry Lily Allen.

Appearing on The Jimmy Kimmel Show last night [2 June)], the Stranger Things star described how it was Lily's two daughters, Marnie (8) and Ethel (9), who made him realise he and Lily had to get married.

David explained that he was riding bikes in the countryside with Lily and her daughters, when Marnie started saying "'David, dad, David, dad.' Because the D got her confused."

"And the older one (Ethel) got very upset with that, which I understand. She was like, 'He's not our dad! He's not our dad!''

David described the back and forth between Lily's daughters, "And then younger one (Marnie) was like, 'Well what is he? He's kind of our dad.' She's (Ethel) like, 'No he's not, he's our stepdad.' And she goes, 'What is he?' And she goes, 'He's just some guy in our lives!''

He continued, "I was like, 'I need to marry this woman'... Because (of) the emotional fallout... That's one of my favourite things I've ever been called. 'Just some guy in our lives.' Describing Ethel as "9 years old going on 35."

Too cute.

David and Lily tied the knot in September 2020 after first being spotted together on the tube in 2019.

Their Las Vegas wedding, complete with a beautiful Dior wedding dress and a fast-food style buffet, bought some much needed joy to our timelines in the midst of the pandemic.

Yep, still our favourite couple.
