David Beckham sues fitness franchise over alleged late payments

David Beckham has filed a lawsuit against fitness brand F45 over alleged late payments.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former soccer player filed a complaint against the fitness company claiming that executives paid him late for a marketing campaign he fronted in 2021.

Beckham signed on last year to represent F45 in social media content and associated marketing material. His contract lasts five years.

In his filing, Beckham claimed that though he had upheld his requirements, the company had lapsed on theirs; F45 had agreed to pay Beckham $1.5 million (£1.3 million) per year plus an undisclosed number of company shares.

The complaint claims that F45 delayed paying Beckham his shares. By the time Beckham received them, the company’s value had allegedly dropped.

Professional golfer Greg Norman is reportedly joining Beckham in the suit. Together, they are seeking upwards of $20 million (£18 million) in damages.
