Dannii Minogue hosts UK's first gay dating show, airing on BBC

The BBC is launching a brand new dating show I Kissed a Boy, which will be the UK's first gay dating show.

The new series is hosted by The X Factor's Dannii Minogue and is set to hit BBC Three and BBC iPlayer very soon.

The broadcaster has now unveiled a new image to promote the show, showing two men embracing in front of a villa setting, alongside Dannii.

The format of the show sees 10 single guys matched up and introduced for the first time, while also sharing a kiss. This will test out their chemistry from the get-go, though everyone is a possible love interest, as we see who ignites a spark and whose eyes will wander.

"I Kissed a Boy is packed with explosive drama, gripping cliffhangers and powerful untold stories – from coming out in a strict religious family, to the pressures of body image in the gay dating scene, to navigating self-acceptance, sex and first same-sex relationships," the synopsis reads.

The show also promises some classic anthems, as it celebrates "the queer community and invites all viewers to join the party".

Dannii was confirmed as host of the series last year, the singer and presenter saying at the time: "There are millions of people in the UK looking for love. And I believe love is for everyone. So I am so thrilled for a gay dating show to be entering the sea of other dating shows that have existed on TV for years.

"I have been a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community for as long as I can remember. My close friends know that my dream job title would be 'Cupid' – so this gives me that flutter-of-love feeling inside too, just to be a part of it. Let's hope there is love, sealed with a kiss!"

I Kissed a Boy will debut soon on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
