Dame Judi Dench and other stars reveal this year's Red Nose Day nose
The new red nose for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day 2023 has now been revealed, as a star-studded line up share their support for the cause.
Dame Judi Dench is one of the celebrities joining in, and she modelled the 2023 nose design in a new photograph. Others including AJ Odudu, Courteney Cox, Dermot O’Leary, Graham Norton, Lulu, Jamie Dornan and Jonathan Ross are also supporting this year's campaign.
In a statement, Dame Judi Dench said: “I find Red Nose Day to be such an important time of year – it’s a time for us all to come together and truly make a difference, and went onto to describe the Red Noses themselves as, "beautiful, very clever little things, and quite fun to try on!”
The 2023 Red Nose has been designed by Sir Jony Ive ("the creative genius behind Apple’s most sought-after products, according to a release from Comic Relief).
The charity explained that this year's nose "has been through the most dramatic makeover since its debut in 1988" adding that it is truly "a Red Nose like no other."
The Red Nose is made from mainly plant-based materials and is a honeycomb-style paper sphere, which begins as a flat crescent before springing into life.
Money raised for Red Nose Day and Comic Relief will support "people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty here in the UK and around the world."
