Daiwa Fish of the Week: In association with the Glasgow Angling Centre
Every Friday inside your Daily Record, don't miss our weekly fishing article from experts at the Glasgow Angling Centre. Glasgow Angling Centre's aim has always been to be a one stop shop for all anglers offering a vast range of tackle, for every aspect of angling, not just specialising in one discipline like many of its competitors! Plus - their passionate staff are committed to making sure that you get the best possible customer service and fishing tackle to suit your budget and requirements.
Every week, keen anglers submit their catches to the judges - and here's this week's Fish of the Week Winner:
"This week's winner of the Daiwa Fish of the Week is Gordon Cowan from Wishaw with a specimen Barbel. On a trip to the River Trent, Gordon had several over the two days before this fish took his 20mm pellet bait and headed upstream. This fish felt much heavier than the others heading for cover then locking up solid Gordon thought he'd snagged up. Changing the angle and getting its head turned, Gordon fought the fish back across the river into his net. Weighing in at 15lb9oz, it's a spectacular fish and a new Personal Best."
