The Christmas Eve rush (or in the case of 2016, the Christmas Eve Eve rush) to all get home after work for the holidays is a real struggle.

And if you have kids? Don’t even go there.

One dad found the experience of getting his daughter home from college particularly traumatic, and has taken to Facebook to express his woes.

In the hilarious video Dan Howard recalls his festive experience, from the flight delayed until 1am to his daughter and her friends chanting “American pie” when they came over to the house.

He looks on the verge of tears, as just about every parent is after the holidays.

Not only was he so tired from his daughter’s antics that he had to miss a day of work, but he almost injured himself moving her extremely heavy luggage. Which also had broken wheels, just to be more convenient.

That’s without mentioning his daughter’s messy bakery project, or having to jump over piles of stuff in the house.

And after all this, he found out he can’t even return her to college thanks to bad transport links.

Because Christmas isn’t Christmas without appalling public transport.
