Cynthia Nixon shows off silver hair on set of Sex and the City reboot

Cynthia Nixon has switched her trademark red locks to silver for the upcoming Sex and the City reunion series.

In a newly-released image from the upcoming HBO Max series, And Just Like That..., Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristin Davis look much the same as they did in the original show, though their attire is more conservative than the sexy outfits the ladies used to wear.

However, the biggest difference appears to be Cynthia's new hair colour, with her character Miranda Hobbes previously sporting a bright red crop.

And Parker, who is reprising the role of Carrie Bradshaw, appears to have a few silver strands amongst her signature blonde highlights too, though Kristin remains brunette for the part of Charlotte York.

After Nixon shared the new photo on social media over the weekend, the post quickly attracted thousands of comments.

"You FOX," wrote One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush, while co-star Willie Garson added: "Fierce!!"

And Just Like That... reteams the trio as they "navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s."

Sex and the City stars Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Garson, and Evan Handler will all return for the new project, while Sara Ramirez is a new member of the cast.

But original co-star Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, will not be involved in the programme, as an HBO executive explained in February: "Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So, I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life."
