So what is Salicylic Acid and why do you need it?
Well, the 2% formula helps to remove dead skin cells that can contribute to clogged pores and spots, regular use of the solution leading to better skin clarity.
The solution is a lipid soluble BHA, which means that it's able to dissolve into your skin's oils, allowing it to deeply penetrate congested pores and promote exfoliation.
The Ordinary’s in-house lab team, led by Chief Scientific Ocer, Prudvi Kaka, have been working hard over the past few years to perfect the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution.
As it is an acid it’s important the formula has an optimal pH so that it doesn’t cause skin irritation, while also proving optimum results.
Therefore, due to the potential irritating effect, the formula has undergone numerous studies over the past few years in order to ensure that the new Salicylic Acid is as gentle and effective as possible.
