Little Simz recently appeared on an episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden, and she let viewers in on a few surprising secrets about her latest album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

Though it's pretty common knowledge that actor Emma Corrin features on the record, Simz explained that the collaboration came about because she was very into binge-watching The Crown while producing the album. "During the time I was recording the album, I'd have these phases where I'd just watch TV series, and The Crown was one of the series I was watching at the time," the singer explained. "Sometimes, I would go into the studio and I wouldn't even record - I'd just watch The Crown. I had an idea that it would be cool if, you know, she could narrate this, and so I reached out and I thought 'I don't even know if she knows who I am, I don't know if this is going to work for her' and she was super down, so yeah it was wicked."

Simz also discussed the process of writing the album at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, which ended up being a little harder than she first imagined. "Walking into that space, it's like, there's so much history behind it obviously with The Beatles and whatnot," she told Corden, adding that "I found myself sometimes like sitting in the control room and watching this 40-piece orchestra just playing my music, and I'd kind of sneak out and go to my car and write because that's like, growing up, when I first started I would write in my car, in my bedroom and I prefer to be in those spaces so I can focus on that and then I'd go back in and record."
