The Crown is leading the way in this year’s Emmy nominations, as well as Disney’s The Mandalorian, which both received 24 nominations each.

Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin’s performances as the Queen, Prince Charles and Princess Diana have all been recognised. The hit Netflix series is also up for best drama series, joined by The Mandalorian.

I May Destroy You, created by Michaela Coel, was nominated in the limited series category. Her critically acclaimed show controversially received no Golden Globes nominations earlier this year, a decision which received huge backlash.

Other notable nominees include Disney+ Marvel series WandaVision, with 23 nominations; The Handmaid's Tale with 21 nominations in total; and The Queen's Gambit starring Anya Taylor-Joy, which received a total of 18 nominations. Netflix favourite Bridgerton received 12 nods.

MJ Rodriguez made history as the first transgender person to be nominated for a leading actor Emmy, having been nominated for best actress in a drama for the final season of Pose.

The 2021 Emmy Awards will take place on 19 September. Read the full list of nominations below.
