Seeing an ex-partner can be trying at the best of times, so most of were pretty impressed with the formidable appearances of both Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas at last week's Royal Wedding.

Looking beautiful and composed, the two ex-girlfriends of the groom, Prince Harry, proved that you can be friends with your ex (and each other), with Davy even rumoured to have been called by the Prince prior to the nuptials.

However, it turns out that actress Bonas wasn’t completely relaxed about the momentous occasion.

In her column for the Spectator, the dancer, who dated Harry from 2012 to 2014, revealed that the most nerve-wracking part was actually deciding what hat to wear.

Bonas wrote, ‘Friends are starting to get married, which means the dilemma of British wedding attire. Hats. Why do I find hats so tricky? Tricky to wear, tricky to look at, and extremely tricky for the poor soul sitting in the pew behind. Most of the time I avoid headgear. This can prompt disapproving looks from the older generations.’

She continued, ‘Last weekend I attended the royal wedding. The invitation clearly stated that guests must wear hats. Yikes. I opted for a minimal feathered number - and can only hope I got it right.’

Bonas certainly did get it right, pairing her Eponine dress with a small, feathered headband and her attendance with a whole load of class.
