Prince Harry's ex-girlfriends had mixed reactions to being invited to the royal wedding. Chelsy Davy reportedly had a tearful goodbye phone call with the groom-to-be before the big day.

“It was their final call, a parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on. Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding. In the end, she went and promised Harry she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the [evening reception],” a family friend revealed to Katie Nicholl. The anonymous sourcing should be, of course, taken with a grain of salt.

But actress Cressida Bonas, on the other hand, who dated Harry from 2012 through 2014, was simply focused on selecting a nice hat to wear to the ceremony.

In a diary entry for the Spectator, Cressida describes the "tricky" experience of picking out her royal wedding headwear.

"Last weekend I attended the royal wedding," she writes in the piece. "The invitation clearly stated that guests must wear hats. Yikes. I opted for a minimal feathered number - and can only hope I got it right."

Indeed, Cressida did wear a small headpiece by royal wedding standards, and she looked quite chic. She and Prince Harry are reportedly still friends, hence the invite to the wedding (though she was not invited to the decidedly more intimate evening invitation). According to the BBC, they split up because Cressida wanted to focus on her acting career, though it was also speculated that the media scrutiny lead them to end their relationship.
