Festival season is here and you know what that means...PORTALOOS!

But there is one thing that makes the whole toilet situation a whole lot more bearable and that is glitter.

Yep, apart from the music and the all day drinking, the single best thing about a festival is the opportunity to cover your entire body with glitter for three solid days.

Which is why we called upon In Your Dreams, a beauty company who actually specialise in glitter, to create a glitter look that will leave you shining brighter than the actual sun and boy did they deliver...

But don't worry, we filmed the process and took notes so you can recreate the look at Glasto.

Step one

Using a cotton bud, apply a skin-safe, multi-purpose balm (Vaseline) under your eyes. This will give the glitter something to adhere to.

Step two

Using the same cotton bud, apply chunky iridescent glitter over the balm. In Your Dreams used a new range of glitters from their upcoming Paradise collection launching very soon, but if you can't wait till then try the In Your Dreams Iridescent Mermaid Chunky Glitter, £5.50. Whatever glitter you use, make sure it's a cosmetic safe!

Step three

Level up your sparkle by applying face gems sporadically around the glitter. These are self adhesive but they will also adhere to the balm you previously applied. Try In Your Dreams Iridescent Electra Face Jewels, £6.50.

Add more glitter! Try In Your Dreams Iridescent Angel Fine Glitter, £5.50 to give a gradient effect.

Hair time. Once your hair is in your desired ponytail, apply hair gel using a paintbrush or old synthetic makeup brush, focusing the gel around the base of your pony.

Step six

Using a brush, paint on the same iridescent chunky glitter as before. To get a heavier glitter application, try rolling your brush instead of stroking it.

Upgrade your regular hair tie by wrapping a piece of ribbon around the base of your pony to cover.

Finish with a sprinkle of even more iridescent fine glitter.

Removal

To remove glitter from your face, soak a cotton pad in water or baby oil (whatever you have on campsite). The balm means that your glitter will slide right off without any abrasive rubbing.

For your hair try the same method (the gel will help it slip right off) before shampooing like normal. But if you're still stuck don't worry we have created a guide for removing every single possible kind of glitter...yeah you can thank us later.

Now go out there and sparkle my tiny unicorns.
