Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock's cause of death has been revealed - three months after his tragic death aged 49. The star’s cause of death was determined by The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner as the effects of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, and the manner of death is accidental.

The star, real name Seth Binzer, was found unresponsive in June. At the time, his manager Howie Hubberman said that drugs played a role in his death, although his official cause of death had not been revealed. He told PEOPLE at the time: "Seth Binzer, after struggling with addiction and Crazy Town's rapid success with 'Butterfly,' never was able to reach out on a more successful level to deal with his addictions. We all tried, but ultimately we all failed, or Shifty would still be here."

The star had struggled with addiction for many years and had always been open about his struggles with sobriety, as he appeared on the reality television series 'Celebrity Rehab 1' and 2 and 'Sober House 1' and 2. Back in 2012, he was admitted to hospital after losing consciousness and had been in a coma before being released.

Eight weeks before the star’s tragic death, he had opened up about his sobriety on Instagram, as he penned: "I’m a lover than a fighter …but the one I need to love more Instead of fight with is myself .. mr shifty true Love # Sober alive and grateful (sic)".

The singer is survived by three sons from three relationships. He shared his eldest son Halo with ex-wife Melissa Binzer who he was married to from 2002-2011, although they had been separated for six months prior. He then welcomed son Gage with Tracy Shelor, and shares his youngest, son Phoenix with model Jasmine Lennard who he began a relationship with in 2010.

Seth first met Crazy Town's co-frontman Bret Mazur, 53, in 1992, and they first called themselves Brimstone Sluggers. They formed Crazy Town in 1999, however, parted ways three years later. They reformed in 2007 and were back on stage in 2009, releasing their third album in 2015.
