All 13 new COVID cases in Singapore imported, including 10-year-old girl
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19 in Singapore on Friday (26 February), taking the country's total case count to 59,913.
There are no new cases of locally-transmitted infection and all cases are imported.
"Amongst the new cases today, 12 are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance, while one was symptomatic," said the ministry.
Of the 13 imported cases, one is a Singaporean and four are permanent residents – including a 10-year-old girl – who returned from India and the UK.
Two others are a dependant’s pass holder and a work pass holder who arrived from Myanmar. Another is a long-term visit pass holder who arrived from India.
The remaining five cases are work permit holders who arrived from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, of whom four are foreign domestic workers. A 27-year-old female work permit holder who arrived from Indonesia is Friday's sole symptomatic case.
All 13 new imported cases were placed on the stay-home notice upon their arrival here and were tested while serving their notice.
The MOH said that the number of new cases in the community has increased from one in the week before to four in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from one in the week before to two in the past week.
