It could snow again over the Easter weekend
When the snow first began to fall across the UK in February, we were ecstatic. It was the winter wonderland we were owed from Christmas!
But then everything ground to a halt. The snow wouldn't stop falling, getting to work was a fecking nightmare, and it became increasingly tedious trying to find outfits that looked vaguely presentable with snow boots and four jumpers over the top.
The snow passed, like everything in life, but then after a brief bright spell that lured us into a false sense of spring security - BAM! - it was back over the weekend. Temperatures are now on the up once more, and are even set to reach double figures at some parts of the country throughout the week if we're lucky.
'Hello spring!', we think, as we unpack our sunglasses, leather jackets and midi-skirts from the depths of our wardrobes. But you might want to hold your horses, because weather experts are predicting we might not be done with the snow quite yet.
According to the Met Office, cold temperatures and snow could hit parts of the UK this Easter weekend. So that means you can kiss goodbye to your existing plans, which most likely consisted of eating chocolate eggs in beer gardens for four days straight.
Apparently, the South of the country will be subjected to wet weather, while the north will experience cold temperatures with a risk of snow. Urggghhh.
Cold snap or snow at Easter? The weather over Easter is still very uncertain, but it's not out of the realms of possibility... statistically we're more likely to have a white Easter than a white Christmas - especially when Easter is early. Jo pic.twitter.com/7krNNPL31Z

And as BBC weather presenter Simon King pointed out, a sudden stratospheric warming event (which triggered the 'Beat from the East') often causes more than a couple of bouts of colder weather - so there may well be more in store.
Who likes trilogies? When you get a sudden stratospheric warming event like we saw in Jan, it often means you can get more than one/two/three bouts of colder weather. #BeastFromTheEast to be continued....? pic.twitter.com/nnt9nJmJDf

As it stands, the Met Office is predicting "uncertainty" where the Easter forecast is concerned, which I guess does mean it could go either way.
So let's all be our best selves for the next week or so, stirring up some good karma that might just end up rewarding us with a shining sun over the four-day weekend.
